Thankfully, since my last update, Kaitlyn's behavior has improved a lot. I'm very grateful! So much has happened with her in the last few months, I'm surprised she is doing as well as she is. First and foremost was the start of school. She has embraced that with flying colors. She LOVES school. She is such a social butterfly that I'm not surprised. Her teacher is Mrs. Hansen, and she is fabulous. Kaitlyn speaks very highly of her! Mrs. Hansen calls her class Hedgehogs, and Kaitlyn gets a kick out of that! She had to miss a bit of school already because of beginning-of-the-school-year colds and to take care of Patty, and let me tell you the tragedy that was to have to miss school. The first day she had to miss because she was sick, so made me email her teacher to be sure that her friend Ailsa would be okay without her. Anyway, as I mentioned before, she favorite things about school are recess and riding the bus. I was concerned at first that those two things were the only things she actually cared about at all... but through some more prying, she fessed up that she really likes library day and that she goes to science class twice. Thank goodness there is more to school than riding a bus!! So, she goes to science class on Mondays and Tuesdays, art on Wednesdays, PE on Thursdays, and music on Fridays. Fridays are also the best because she gets to see her Kinder-buddy (her 5th grade friend) and its also show and tell day. She shows very little interest in reading still, but she has improved by leaps and bounds in the number department. She can count to 100 and likes to practice writing to 100 too. The reading thing is really bothering me, so I'll see what her teacher thinks next month.
